Data sources
Public data
We use publicly available data: OpenStreetMap for stops, shops, schools and parks, and the City of Wien's open data portals for buildings, construction sites and protection zones. This includes information about schools, kindergartens, public transport, parks, and more.
Noise
How we estimate noise
The noise estimate is not a measurement. We check OpenStreetMap for a motorway or expressway within 300 m, a main road within 150 m, or a railway within 200 m. A motorway or expressway gives “Loud”, a main road or railway “Moderate”, otherwise “Quiet”. We do not know about courtyards, noise barriers or where in the building a flat sits; the estimate does not replace visiting at different times of day.
Buildings
Where the building data comes from
Construction year, period, number of floors and building type come from the City of Vienna open data (building information and construction period overview). They are looked up per address by street and house number, or by location as a fallback. The rent note is a rule of thumb: whether the reference-rent cap applies depends on the building permit date, flat size, subsidies and other exceptions. It does not replace advice from a tenants’ association or a lawyer.
Quality assurance
Reviews & moderation
Every resident review is checked before publication. We use a combination of automated checks and manual moderation to prevent fraud and abuse.
Artificial intelligence
How we use AI
AI generates summaries based on public area data and approved review averages. AI does not generate reviews, never impersonates residents, and does not use review free-text.
